This is a handy chart we've created for members to study and monitor their energy usage. It lists typical individual electronics and electrical appliances that might be found in your home. It then shows the average wattage, hours of use, and cost per month of each appliance.

But you can adapt the chart to your own house!

You can download the chart as an interactive Excel file that allows you to change the average hours of usage per month; the cost per month then changes accordingly. (You must save the Excel file to your computer before using it.)

You can also download a PDF (209 KB) of the chart and print it. It has blanks to fill in your home's specifics and gives you the formulas to apply to get energy usage for your home.
